The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended the then District Program Officer (DPO) of Fatehpur, Rajiv Kumar Singh. Currently posted in Sonbhadra, Rajiv Kumar Singh is accused of extorting money from his subordinates, promoting corruption, mental and physical exploitation of subordinate female employees, indiscipline and not taking interest in departmental work during his posting in the districts.
Principal Secretary Child Development and Nutrition Veena Kumari Meena has suspended Rajiv Kumar Singh and handed him a charge sheet and also sought an explanation. Departmental disciplinary action has also been initiated against him. Additional Director (Finance) of Child Development Services and Nutrition has been nominated as the investigating officer.
According to the suspension order, Rajiv Kumar Singh is habitual of not working as per the intention of the government and being negligent in the implementation of departmental schemes. He does not even establish coordination with other departments. Due to which not only child development, but also the progress of schemes of other departments like health etc. is getting adversely affected. He has also been disobeying the guidelines of public representatives, senior officials and works arbitrarily.
